WHY SPOTIFY?

WHY SPOTIFY?

“Music activates both the left and right brain at the same time, and the activation of both hemispheres can maximize learning and improve memory,” says Dr. Masha Godkin.in an article on the North Central University (NCU) website.

Despite all this information, the Fairfax County Public School system decided to block Spotify. To pour fuel to the fire, they kept Youtube Music unblocked. Who uses Youtube Music? They also kept music on the youtube site unblocked. It’s like if you started to answer a question, but you didn’t finish it.

For the past year or two, Spotify has been one of the most used apps on the school computer. Despite blocking many gaming apps in the previous years, Spotify has not been blocked. That was because everyone uses Spotify. Yet earlier this year, FCPS blocked it. One can not even access Spotify with the aid of VPNs. Not like I would do that since I am a great student.

“I wish spotify was unblocked,” said Chandresh Durisamy, 9

My point is, FCPS should unblock Spotify. What harm is it doing? Students love it, teachers love it, and it is useful for keeping students focused. For example, you’re trying to work while listening to music, so you use your phone. Then you spend time getting on Spotify only to realize it’s blocked! So you just find another music app. That beats the point. Which leads me to my big question, why Spotify?
