. There’s nothing I love more than staying after school, eating my rations of three chips and half a cookie, and watching a friend of a friend click through a slideshow they probably made 10 minutes before the meeting.
. I wouldn’t rather sleep.
. I wouldn’t rather go home and play with my dog.
. And I definitely wouldn’t rather go out in the sunlight I haven’t seen since 7:53 AM.
But if eating those stale cookies brings you joy, maybe you should check out one of these clubs.
. If you don’t want a job until 30, want $200,000 of debt, and also want to live in your mom’s basement after college, you should join Pre-Med club. Pre-Med club is meant to prepare you for a career in the medical field.
. “You should join Pre-Med club because it gives you a new sight on the medical field and different jobs and opportunities that come with it. In Pre-Med, we do medical related activities, with each month being a different organ system, so you learn more through different fun activities. We also participate in field trips and reflect on how you can become a doctor and stuff, so it’s fun and you should join,” Iniya Mahendiran, 10.
. If only getting a 97% on a test sends you into cardiac arrest, you might want to consider joining the Technology Student Association.
. “Anyone should join TSA if they don’t know what they want to do for their job because TSA has a lot of different competition options, and it really helps you figure out what you’re interested in, and what you’re willing to dedicate your time to,” Soph Lamy, 10, “We prepare for different STEM competitions, so you can build a robot, you can prepare presentations, you can make business plans. You can mostly do anything in TSA.”
. If the title really applies to you, you should join Science Olympiad.
. “People should join Science Olympiad because it promotes collaboration and teamwork in an educational and academic setting. It’s a great club to join if you are interested in various fields of science and want to compete for Westfield!” Amritha Sundarrajan, 10.
In my opinion, a better way of competing for Westfield is joining a sports team, but I guess Science Olympiad works too.
. If you want to go into a field with one of the lowest employment rates, you might want to consider joining Art Club. It won’t prepare you for financial instability, but it will let you have a nice relaxing painting session after school.
. “I feel like a lot of people think that there’s not much of a career in art, but there actually are a lot more career options. It’s also just a great, relaxing period. I feel like I get a lot of opportunities to unwind from a lot of other stressful classes. You kind of just get to turn your brain off and just make art, and it’s also just really fun,” Bhavya Gurumoorthy, 12.
