The holiday season is drawing near, and to accompany your hopefully well-made turkey, multiple hopefully well-made movies are approaching their release dates! New releases, anticipated sequels, and classic musicals will be arriving in theaters by the time you pour gravy on your mashed potatoes. Here is a brief list of upcoming motion pictures that could be your next watch and Thanksgiving dinner.

• Gladiator II

The original Gladiator film was a movie highly regarded as a classic, and Paramount Pictures finally revealed plans for the Gladiator sequel.  A pungent, violent, and influential film, Gladiator was heavily praised, winning five Academy Awards and becoming the second highest-grossing movie of the year 2000.  Gladiator II broke the silence of a sequel after a 24+ year hiatus and was finally released on November 22nd, which is now available in theaters.  

•  Moana II

The Polynesian Disney princess finally receives continuation, tallying eight years since the first Academy Award-nominated release in 2016. Its prerequisite followed the usual Disney movie formula but contained plentiful batches of memorable moments and a story that helped encourage children to try new things and never give up. Moana also served as a significant landmark for Polynesian representation. This movie releases on the day of Thanksgiving, marking it just in time for your family dinner.

•  Wicked (Movie)

Wicked is already seen as an immortalized name to many, being one of the most popular and well-known Broadway productions of the 21st century. The play will finally receive its very first film starring singer Ariana Grande as Glinda. Many people have been anticipating this film’s fabrication due to its original play becoming astoundingly popular and well-renowned, with the original play winning three Tonys. It is competing against Gladiator II in the box office, with its simultaneous release on November 22nd.
