I started listening to Tyler, the Creator a few years ago. Hearing his songs when they were played around me interested me, and I wanted to hear more of him.  He’s very consistent with releasing new albums, and each one has a deep meaning behind it.  Hearing his song Bastard has made me realize how he speaks about himself and his personal life can also relate to the lives of many others including myself.  “My mother raised me as a single parent’’ is a part of one of his songs that reminds me of how my life is and how thankful I am for everything my mom has done without having my dad around anymore. His album Flower was to show what he’s become and how much he’s grown. “Rooted from the bottom bloomed into a tree” is another saying in his song showing how anyone can start with nothing and become something. 

           Fans all around the world listen to Tyler The Creator speak about how meaningful his songs are, but who is he? Born in Los Angeles, California, Tyler Okonma started music and design at a young age and eventually created a Myspace account to connect with other artists.  His music career took off in 2007 with a group called Odd Future, and eventually, he released his own album in 2011, titled Goblin. Receiving a Grammy award in 2017 for his album Flower Boy and reaching number two on Billboard helped kick off his career, and helped him gain more fame and praise.

           After a long wait, two days ago, Tyler finally dropped his new album, Chromakopia. People post on their stories talking about their favorite songs.  “The beats are a mix of Igor and Flower Boy” stated Carly Myers, 11, who has listened to Tyler for five years. In my opinion, the album did not disappoint. I loved how creative he was through each song and although there were a few I didn’t like all that much, I didn’t hate any of them. Tyler had a few concerts already, letting fans hear all his new songs with him and also announcing a tour. I hope I can get the tickets for them as this could be a great experience. 

           There will always be people who dislike him, which is fine, but it is always interesting for people who just start listening to him to experience the deep meaning and creative thoughts he puts into his songs.   In general as just a normal person he has been found to be extremely fun and kind to his fans, making sure everyone is always laughing.
