On September 4th, Westfield’s JV field hockey team went to Robinson for their first away game of the season. While Westfield was hoping to replicate their 2-0 win at their previous game against Langley, the score remained 0-0 the whole game.
Westfield attacked for most of the first quarter, however Robinson pushed back against the defense for the next two quarters of the game. Westfield was successfully able to defend two penalty corners. During half time, Westfield decided it would be best to focus on utilizing the width of the field more.
The game ended on a corner against the Rams, however the Bulldogs were not able to score. Offensively, there was room for improvement, however the Bulldogs will not go against the Rams for the rest of the season.
This was the last game the Bulldogs will play before heading into the in-district season. The mostly returning defense is hoping they can minimize the amount of goals scored this season.
