. Albert Einstein Medical College students recently received news that beginning August of 2024, they will receive free tuition. Dr. Ruth Gottsmen was left $1 billion in inheritance money after her husband passed, and she decided to donate it to the school. There was great excitement amongst students and staff alike, and the massive amount of funds will take the stress off of bank accounts, allowing the college to attract students of all backgrounds committed to aiding the medical community.

. Marine Life Discovery
. A team of scientists from the Schmidt Ocean Institute discovered marine hotspots on underwater mountains with an incredible amount of biodiversity. Many of the species have never been seen before, and their discovery will aid in the establishment of marine protected areas in international waters.

. NASA Returns to the Moon
. Odysseus, a lander owned by a commercial space company, touched down on the South Pole of the Moon while carrying NASA research and technology demonstrations. Odysseus’ cargo will aid in research regarding future use and occupation of the Moon. This marks a big accomplishment for the American space industry, as it’s NASA’s first time returning to the moon since the Apollo 11 mission that occurred over 50 years ago.

. At a hospital in Cordoba, Argentina, volunteers have been taking turns holding babies that were born premature. They do this when a parent is unable to be present, comforting the children as if they were their own. This means that newborns aren’t constantly incubated in machines, allowing for them to develop, relax, and feel the love of others.

. Microplastic Filtration
. Last year, researchers at the University of British Columbia created a filtration system that separates microplastics from water. Tannins from bark with the wood dust (resources that would have otherwise been thrown out) formed the working filter. It’s possible that these materials could be utilized on a larger scale at waste-water treatment plants or water filters in homes.

. Worms Defy Cancer
. Researchers at NYU conducted a study on worms living near the Chernobyl power plant that experienced a nuclear meltdown in 1986. The study showed that their DNA had no damage, despite living in an environment with high levels of radiation. The find opens doors to investigate how their genome is resilient against radiation, which could aid in the fight against cancer in humans and other mammals.

. Atlas Statue Reborn
. A 26 foot tall Atlas statute reconstruction project on the island of Sicily was finished after 20 years. The Atlas statue was once part of a temple dedicated to the Greek god Zeus. Cultural heritage specialists are excited because its restoration will aid in the preservation of Greek mythology and be a great addition to the Valley of the Temples.

. Breakthrough in Amelia Earhart Mystery
. Deep Sea Vision may have solved the mystery of Ameila Earhart’s lost plane. By peering through the ocean depths with sonar imagery, the South Carolina based company was able to create an image that shared remarkable similarities to Earhart’s plane that departed from Papua New Guinea. With the plane’s location matching the route she would have been flying, it’s plausible that it could be her aircraft. If Deep Sea Vision can find a serial number of the plane, the match could be confirmed or denied.

. Scripps Research Center has discovered human antibodies that may lead to the development of a universal snakebite antivenom. With the current mainstream antivenom making process being both expensive and extensive, the discovery could aid those who don’t have access to large hospitals or money to pay for care for snake bites.
