Jeffrey Edward Epstein needs no introduction, using funds from his job, Epstein and his wife, Ghislaine Maxwell, ran a sex trafficking operation which saw around 36 women and children being abused. With the recent release of the flight list, documenting visitors to the island, the whole situation has been turned into a meme-fest by the internet with online spectators placing bets on which celebrities would be on the list.
To set the record straight, being present at Little Saint James does not immediately make someone involved in criminal activity. Many misinterpret the flight list as a client list which are two separate things. The flight list just documents visitors to the island which does put people under some speculation, but you have to use other sources to truly determine if a visitor engaged in the sex trafficking. Those would include witness testimonies or other documents. For example, one of the 150 names inside the flight list was in fact known physician Steven Hawking. Normally, this would only put him under a microscope, but a victim by the name of Virginia Giuffre accused Hawking of being involved in an underage orgy. This witness testimony, and his known presence at the island in 2015 along with Epstein offering to pay people to disprove said allegations, makes it possible that he engaged in the criminal activity though nothing has been proved. The truth is that Epstein basically knew everyone in Hollywood, and while going to Little Saint James doesn’t make you guilty of anything yet, there is also the possibility that anyone who visited might have known about what was going.
As of right now, the situation has left the internet’s attention– it’s old news. Though I do believe it’ll be back again at some point, there’s a possibility new information is revealed about the actions of some individuals documented on the flight list. In all honesty, anything could happen. Stories like these usually go through a cycle of relevancy and irrelevancy, and with the state of modern internet culture, you can always expect a plethora of memes and jokes to spawn from them, every time. It’s interesting to think about how a serious and troubling situation, like what happened on Little Saint James island, can be turned into a spectacle and a joke. Everyone who posts memes, or any other form of satirical content, about Epstein knows what he did and how awful his actions were. We might not ever know all the people that participated in the deplorable acts Epstein engaged in. That fact just might be something we have to live with.
